This course is an ideal introduction to lay the foundations for a strong and healthy yoga practice. The Iyengar Yoga method is internationally respected for its vigorous style and sophisticated understanding of yoga asana. The methodical and sequential teaching will gradually awaken the body-intelligence and enable you to gain strength, co-ordination, agility and relaxation.
The course will introduce all the postures that can safely be practised by beginners with the emphasis on learning standing and seated postures, followed by forward and lateral extensions, and including shoulder stand and relaxation.
You will learn precision and subtlety in your asana practice; first the shape is studied, then details are gradually incorporated to make the posture more correct. Physical and mental health is built up slowly but positively.
